The role as Site Reliability Engineer

In the role as Site Reliability Engineer you will work operationally to bridge between support and development by prioritizing tasks based on a thorough understanding of the business case. You will be responsible for monitoring processes aiming to secure availability, efficiency and reducing latency. You will be involved in capacity planning and emergency response by identifying any outages or service degradations and manage resources to identify and resolve the task. 

As the first Site Reliability Engineer in the team it is important that you are driven and can find weaknesses within current systems and processes by yourself and then work to implement changes and improvements together with the team. You will also be the main contact person for stakeholders both internal and external around the state of the system.

Key responsibilities of the role: 

  • SLA (Service Level Agreement) compliance
  • Emergency response: prioritize tasks during a critical failure and act as point of contact for stakeholders
  • CI/CD pipeline status: overall responsible for keeping the CI/CD systems in running condition
  • Operations: managing resources and work with the developers on best practice solutions around running their particular application

Requirements & skills

In order to succeed in the role you’ll need…

  • An understanding of Linux environments
  • Ability to automate tasks with scripting 
  • To understand and reason about code
  • Excellent communication skills in english, both verbal and in writing
  • A “go get” attitude and solution oriented mindset


  • Experience in setting up SLI -> SLO -> SLAs
  • Experience with error budgeting
  • Coding skills, preferably in Java
  • Proficient in Swedish
  • Experience in DevOps tools, preferably in Spinnaker
  • Understanding of Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Knowledge on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
  • An understanding of operational tasks such as application management.


Position will be located in Stockholm.
