What We Do In Product Strategy & Management
In the Product Strategy & Management team, our areas of responsibility can be summarized in four categories:
- Product Management
Product Management decides how to manage the product and its roadmap. This includes defining vision and goals for the product as well as defining requirements for developing new products/features. It is important in Product Management to have continuous conversations with existing clients, do research and keep track of competitors and what is happening on the market.
- Presales/Solution Consulting
Presales/Solution Consulting can be seen as the link between product strategy and management, sales and marketing. Our Presales/Solution Consultants participate in meetings with future prospects, present our solutions and assist the Sales team in qualifying prospects. It is important to work closely with our clients in order to build trust and understand their needs. Ultimately, our Presales/Solution Consultants provide a solution for our clients by answering RFIs and RFPs, by defining the technical and functional scope of the solution and presenting the benefits with our solution.
- UX
Our UX-designers are a key part of the team that aims to ensure Extenda Retail delivers good user experience and user interface in our applications and software. The UX-designers are our eyes and ears out to the users, performing research and testing concepts in order to understand further areas for developing solutions that will increase the customer satisfaction and attractiveness in our products. In addition, the UX-designers build mockups for design proposals, set guidelines for UX and UI and coordinate design activities with the agile product development teams.
- 3rd party product integrations
When we deliver our software solutions we usually have 3rd party solutions we need to integrate. For instance, when we deliver our POS system (Point of Sale system) all our clients will have one or many payment solutions, but it is also common that our clients have for example loyalty clubs and gift cards that need to be integrated. It is our mission to decide which strategic 3rd party integrations we aim to support and ensure these integrations are functioning.
How We Do It
In order to succeed in the team, conducting extensive research is crucial. It helps us gain a deep understanding of the problems we aim to solve, the purpose behind our actions, and how they will ultimately generate value for our clients. Since we favor innovation, entrepreneurship and want fast client feedback and validation of our ideas, we try to follow a lean start-up methodology. Moreover, the team is a central part of the company and interacts with most other teams. We have a daily collaboration with Engineering, working agile and following SCRUM processes. In addition we work closely with Sales, Marketing and Professional Services.
This Makes Us Excited
Much is happening that creates excitement within the team. For instance, we have recently launched Hii Checkout, a cloud POS platform, which is the first native cloud solution for tier 1-2 retailers on the market. Another exciting project we are working on right now is developing new technology for reducing shoplifting and wastage by using AI/ML. Being able to work with cutting-edge technology and actively be the ones shaping the future of technology - ultimately, that is what creates engagement in our team.
